In August 2008 M° Luca Bertocchi, Marco Monzio Compagnoni and Mario Rota decided to give birth to “Trio Chitarristico di Bergamo”, consciously driven by the commitment and enthusiasm coming out from performing music together and the strong will to divulgate the peculiar repertory this kind of ensemble is able to offer.
The proposed concerto presents a natural course composed by pieces from baroque period till now; transcriptions of pieces for piano and for several kinds of ensembles, but also original three-guitars pieces highlight the flexibility of this ensemble to any historical musical contest.
The very peculiarities of such ensemble are to be found in the vast expressive potential laying in a six-cords instrument. This emerges in particular in the trio, where this feature is dominant and where it becomes a key mean in the polyphonic construction of the pieces.
In the spring 2009 the ensemble obtained important prices, getting the 2nd ranking in the national competitions of Lamporecchio (Pistoia), “Ansaldi–Servetti-Tomatis” at Mondovì (Cuneo) and “Città di Voghera”.
The executors boast a wide experience as concert perfomers, with executions in prestigious locations, both as soloists and as a part of ensembles.
